Regarding the Affect of Human Population Growth on Human Progress

Population density will reach a point where its increase no longer aids in the progress of the human race, but hinders it, due to a net excess of energy being "wasted" through dealing with the affects of the density.

A simple illustration is-

Expending energy to deal with famine; the affects of water shortages; aggressive transmittable diseases; various climate change challenges, and the massive amount of energy used in wars over resources,

VS

Investing this energy into education, science, our communities, etc.

I think it is important that the human race starts thinking of population density as a potential threat to the progress of our species.  I think more important than the threat of our species being "wiped out" by our own unhindered reproduction, is the threat of being held back by it.
